Medication

So i've been put on low doses of Abilify and strattera. Abilify tends to have a weight gain effect, strattera tends to make people lose their appetite. i don't know whether to even continue trying to lose weight or not. I haven't weighed myself in awhile. I've been really sick lately. Apparently i have an inner ear problem thats been causing dizziness and a chest wall inflammation. I honestly thought i was dying for awhile. Thought my heart was giving up. Maybe that is a clear sign that i need to lose weight but it's SOOo hard. I think i have a food addiction...specifiically sweets. Steve keeps bringing ice cream in the house and expecting me to not eat it. I'm so weak when it comes to ice cream. Every time i go to the store its a struggle not to get soda and candybars. I just don't know if it is worth it to lose weight but make myself miserable. And with the meds, they could help, but the could seriously hinder me as well. Words of advice?

Darling do you take vitamins? A lot of your cravings could be nutritional deficiencies.

I can give you some recommendations if you like.

Okay!

So by far one of the top companies in North America is Douglas Laboratories, I take their products and it's what we give our clients at the clinic. http://www.douglaslabs.com/product_listing.cfm

You could totally order it online.

OR you can try http://www.truestarhealth.com/
for another high quality SAFE!! option.

My major concern when people take vitamins is that there is no regulatory board for supplementation. Therefore companies can tell you whatever the hell they want.

The 2 I told you about have the top ranking in North America based on an independent study.

Supplements to look for:
Enzymes / Probiotics - make sure your digestive tract is working properly and that your body is taking the nutrients from your food.
Multivitamin / Minerals - you eat a lot of processed foods and you take some medication. Both of which can cause mineral depletion in your body. A mineral imbalance can also cause food cravings! which you'll satisfy with whatever is easy instead of what your body needs (it can't send us a signal saying WHAT it is deficient in so we recognize it as hunger).
Fish Oils - ALA and Omega 3 healthy fatty acids are key to weight loss because they support your nervous system and reduce inflammation. One essential fatty acid 'relative' CLA (conjugated linoliec acid) actually helps with inch loss around the abdomen as well.
Vitamin D / Vitamin C / Calcium and Magnesium - you should be taking these anyways to protect yourself from Osteoporosis and Arthritis. Calcium also helps with sleep. Vitamin D and C help with depression.

If ALL you supplement is the above you'll have a lot more success with your journey and be all around more healthy and better able to cope with the stress life throws at you.

Let me know if you need more detail I'd be happy to provide it.

Don't stop now darling, you'll get there.

- M.

also holy crap $$ I might be able to afford $30 a month for a multivitamin but that's gonna be it

ok looked at the other site and they had a women's pack for $70ish. what do you think of that...seemed to have most of what you mentioned in it. hubby said we "can look into it but not this week"

Yeah it would be easiest to grab a multi that is a combination, the womens pack probably would be a good move! It can definitely be expensive no matter what quality of vitamin you go for sadly.

Acidophilius is one enzyme and yep you can get it from yogurt. I've never seen milk here in Canada that's sort of different.

I pay about 200 a month for my vitamins right now - but I was paying a LOT more before. Yikes.
I sure wouldn't do it if I didn't see a difference.
